Japan Tobacco Inc. launches new "Mevius baize option" product under Ploom X ADVANCED brand, featuring pear and mint flavors.

According to sources from Japan's Kakaku, Japan Tobacco Inc. has globally launched a new product under its heated tobacco brand "Ploom X ADVANCED" on March 18th, called "Mevius baize option".

This product is marketed for its unique "pear flavor" and 100% natural mint extract, containing 20 electronic pods with a refreshing mint taste. All mint flavors included in this product come from natural sources. It is priced at 500 yen.

Bangladesh Approves Ordinance Banning E-Cigarettes and Heated Tobacco Products

Bangladesh’s Advisory Council on December 24 approved the Smoking and Tobacco Products Usage (Control) (Amendment) Ordinance, 2025, aimed at strengthening tobacco control laws. The ordinance bans the use, production and marketing of emerging tobacco products, including e-cigarettes, electronic nicotine delivery systems and heated tobacco products. Nicotine pouches are included in the definition of tobacco products.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has added ON! Plus nicotine pouch products to its list of authorized products, disclosing that the brand has received Marketing Granted Orders (MGO) through the Premarket Tobacco Product Application (PMTA) pathway. The update makes on! Plus the second nicotine pouch brand authorized via PMTA, following ZYN. As of publication, the FDA had not issued a separate press release on the decision.
