Rising Concerns Over E-cigarette Use in Vietnam: Report Title
VNTCF report reveals alarming rise in e-cigarette use among Vietnamese youth, raising concerns about tobacco control progress.

According to a report by Tuoitre News on October 23, Nguyen Thi Thu Huong, representing the Vietnam Tobacco Control Fund (VNTCF), recently released a report titled "Implementation of Global and Vietnam Tobacco Harm Reduction Laws and Policies." The VNTCF, under the Ministry of Health, expressed serious concern over the alarming growth of e-cigarette use nationwide.

The report data presented by the representative shows that the e-cigarette usage rate among 13 to 15-year-old students rose from 3.5% in 2022 to 8% in 2023, while the adult usage rate increased from 0.2% in 2015 to 3.6% in 2020. This data indicates that Vietnam's progress in reducing traditional smoking rates over the past decade is at risk due to the popularity of e-cigarettes among young people.
