Special Operation Seizes Counterfeit Tobacco Products in Konya, Turkey

Turkish authorities raid shops in Konya, seizing hundreds of thousands of counterfeit tobacco products and arresting five suspects.

According to a report by trthaber, a special team from Turkey's anti-smuggling and organized crime department in Konya conducted raids on five shops in the Eregli district suspected of illegally selling tobacco products. The operation resulted in the seizure of 320,600 empty pods with counterfeit tax stamps, 22,500 cigarette papers, 2,230 packs of finished cigarettes, 296 bottles of e-liquid, 50 e-cigarettes, 25 kilograms of water pipe tobacco, 16 kilograms of shredded tobacco, and tobacco rolling machines and compressors. Five suspects were arrested during the operation.

Kyrgyzstan Extends Import Ban on E-Cigarettes and Nicotine Liquids by Six Months

The Kyrgyz government has extended its ban on the import of electronic cigarettes and nicotine-containing liquids for another six months. The decision, signed by the chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, covers e-cigarettes, integrated nicotine delivery systems, and nicotine liquids used in such devices. The original ban was introduced in July and was due to expire soon.

Saratov Governor Supports Russian Nationwide Ban on E-Cigarette Sales

Governor of Saratov Oblast, announced on his official Telegram channel that he fully supports a nationwide ban on the sale of e-cigarettes. Busargin noted that while restrictions on such products have long been in place, enforcement remains weak and health experts continue to warn of the risks posed to children. He stressed that economic interests must not outweigh public health and said Saratov is ready to enforce a ban once regional powers are granted.
