According to a report from Turkish media outlet dogruhaber on February 3rd, a strong crackdown on smuggling operations was carried out in the Izmirt district of the Kocaeli province in Turkey. The provincial police department seized a large quantity of hand-rolled cigarettes and smuggling tobacco equipment during the operation.
The police conducted a thorough search of three residences in this operation, resulting in the seizure of 180,000 counterfeit cigarettes, including 51,000 individually packaged shredded tobacco, and 400 kilograms of loose tobacco.
