Warning: Be Cautious when Buying E-cigarettee-liquid Online
Indonesian police warn of dangerous e-cigarette liquid containing meth and marijuana elements, targeting young people. Drug abuse rising.

According to a report from KOMPAS on August 13, Agus Susanto, the head of the narcotics division at the police station in Bandung, Java, Indonesia, has warned local residents to be cautious when purchasing e-cigarette liquid, especially when buying online.

He stated that this appeal was issued based on information about the distribution of e-cigarettes containing liquid crystal methamphetamine and liquid marijuana. More significantly, in January of this year, the Metropolitan Jakarta Police raided a home e-cigarette manufacturing factory in West Jakarta's Kemang An area, which used liquid methamphetamine as its raw material.

He emphasized that e-cigarette liquid containing methamphetamine and marijuana ingredients is mainly targeted at young people, especially students.

According to the National Narcotics Agency (BNN), the number of drug abusers in Indonesia has increased from 3.3 million in 2018 to 3.6 million in 2019. There has also been an increase in teenage drug users in 13 provincial capital cities.

He pointed out that due to the strong curiosity of teenagers, they are easily targeted by drug networks. In addition to the possibility of becoming long-term users, teenagers are also susceptible to being deceived and becoming potential customers of drug trafficking networks.

Despite no evidence of e-cigarette liquid containing methamphetamine being found in Bantu County, Agus urges the public to remain vigilant.

Yes, they have many methods to sell drugs, but we must always remain vigilant, not only the public, but also law enforcement officers must be cautious.
