Anti-E-cigarette System Implemented in Russian St. Petersburg School
Russian school in St. Petersburg implements "anti-e-cigarette system" to curb smoking on campus, designed by graduates to improve hygiene.

A high school in St. Petersburg, Russia, has implemented an "anti-e-cigarette system" to deter students from smoking on campus. This system, designed by graduates of the school, is capable of detecting the vapor produced by e-cigarettes, with the aim of improving the school's hygiene environment.

 

This innovative measure has been introduced in response to a series of health issues and incidents caused by the use of e-cigarettes, with the aim of safeguarding the health and safety of students.

KT&G announced on Aug. 13, 2026, that it has opened “lil Archive,” a brand exhibition space in Seoul showcasing the evolution, technology platforms and future direction of its heated tobacco brand lil since its launch in 2017. KT&G said lil now spans three major platforms — lil SOLID, lil HYBRID and lil AIBLE — with more than 30 dedicated consumables, and held a 48% share of South Korea's heated tobacco market in the second quarter of 2026. Research | Swedish Study Finds Oral Lesions in 79% of Examined Nicotine Pouch Users, With Distinct Tissue Responses
A new Swedish study found oral mucosal lesions in 79% of examined nicotine pouch users and 89% of tobacco-derived snus users, with different tissue-response patterns between the two categories. For manufacturers and regulators, the findings shift attention toward product formulation, flavouring, pouch materials and local oral exposure, not only whether a product contains tobacco. The study found no higher prevalence of caries or periodontal disease, but it could not establish causality, long-term outcomes or differences between individual products or designs.
