Anti-E-cigarette System Implemented in Russian St. Petersburg School
Russian school in St. Petersburg implements "anti-e-cigarette system" to curb smoking on campus, designed by graduates to improve hygiene.

A high school in St. Petersburg, Russia, has implemented an "anti-e-cigarette system" to deter students from smoking on campus. This system, designed by graduates of the school, is capable of detecting the vapor produced by e-cigarettes, with the aim of improving the school's hygiene environment.

 

This innovative measure has been introduced in response to a series of health issues and incidents caused by the use of e-cigarettes, with the aim of safeguarding the health and safety of students.

Russia’s Volgograd Police Seize Illicit Nicotine Products Worth Over US$42.9K+
Police in Russia’s Volgograd region say they seized nicotine products lacking mandatory markings valued at more than RUB 3.3 million (about US$42,900+, using RUB 1 = US$0.013). A 43-year-old suspect allegedly stored and sold the products through two retail outlets in Volgograd’s Central and Dzerzhinsky districts. A criminal case has been opened under Article 171.1(6) of the Russian Criminal Code.

Bangladesh Approves Ordinance Banning E-Cigarettes and Heated Tobacco Products
Bangladesh’s Advisory Council on December 24 approved the Smoking and Tobacco Products Usage (Control) (Amendment) Ordinance, 2025, aimed at strengthening tobacco control laws. The ordinance bans the use, production and marketing of emerging tobacco products, including e-cigarettes, electronic nicotine delivery systems and heated tobacco products. Nicotine pouches are included in the definition of tobacco products.

France’s Top Administrative Court Suspends Nicotine Pouch Decree
France’s Council of State has suspended a government decree that was set to ban the manufacture, production and export of nicotine pouches from April 2026. The court ruled that companies were not given sufficient time to reorganise their operations. A final decision on the legality of the decree is expected by June 2026. The court noted that the commercial sale of nicotine pouches is already restricted under existing public health laws.

Russia Proposes Mandatory Labelling of E-cigarettes from April 1, 2026
Russia’s Ministry of Industry and Trade has proposed introducing mandatory labelling for electronic cigarettes and other electronic devices used to consume nicotine, starting April 1, 2026. The draft resolution has been published on the regulatory portal. Under the proposal, market participants would be required to register with the national monitoring system and label products accordingly, as part of efforts to enhance state oversight of production and circulation.
