Anti-E-cigarette System Implemented in Russian St. Petersburg School
Russian school in St. Petersburg implements "anti-e-cigarette system" to curb smoking on campus, designed by graduates to improve hygiene.

A high school in St. Petersburg, Russia, has implemented an "anti-e-cigarette system" to deter students from smoking on campus. This system, designed by graduates of the school, is capable of detecting the vapor produced by e-cigarettes, with the aim of improving the school's hygiene environment.

 

This innovative measure has been introduced in response to a series of health issues and incidents caused by the use of e-cigarettes, with the aim of safeguarding the health and safety of students.

FDA Grants PMTA Authorization to 11 ZYN ULTRA Nicotine Pouches, Bringing Total Authorized Pouches to 43
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration authorized 11 ZYN ULTRA nicotine pouch products made by Swedish Match USA through the premarket tobacco product application pathway on August 21, 2026. Ten of the authorized products have a labeled nicotine content of 9 mg, while ZYN ULTRA Smooth was authorized at 11 mg. The reviews were conducted through FDA’s nicotine pouch PMTA pilot program. FDA has now authorized 43 nicotine pouch products, including 23 through the pilot.

As cigarette markets face long-term pressure, major tobacco companies are increasingly turning to nicotine pouches in search of growth beyond combustible tobacco. Reuters has examined whether nicotine pouches can become the next strategic growth platform for companies including Philip Morris International, British American Tobacco and Japan Tobacco. PMI strengthened its position through the acquisition of Swedish Match and its ZYN brand, while BAT and JTI continue expanding their own nicotine pouch portfolios.
