Australian police seize nearly 3,000 illegal e-cigarettes, including the brand 'IGET'
Australian Border Force arrests two men suspected of illegal e-cigarette trade, seizing nearly 3,000 illicit e-cigarettes, including the 'IGET' brand.

The Australian Border Force arrested two men involved in the illegal e-cigarette trade during a raid, according to an October 30 ABC News report.

 

One suspect was found in possession of over 2,500 e-cigarettes valued at approximately AUD 127,000, while the other was arrested with 300 illegal e-cigarettes and AUD 3,000 in cash. The products seized included the IGET brand of e-cigarettes.

Both individuals applied for bail and were granted release under strict conditions, including a prohibition on contacting each other and a requirement to surrender their passports. Police allege that the two are part of a local gang distributing illegal e-cigarettes. The case is scheduled for another hearing next month.

 

In Australia, e-cigarette sales are strictly regulated, with legal sales limited to pharmacies and generally requiring a prescription.
