Bangladesh Urged to Ban E-Cigarettes Amid Health Concerns
Former government officials in Bangladesh are urging the country to pass a law prohibiting e-cigarettes, citing harmful effects on public health.

Recently, according to the Bangladeshi media outlet tbsnews, former government officials in Bangladesh are urging the country to enact a law banning e-cigarettes.

 

During a conference discussion, they emphasized the detrimental impact of e-cigarettes on public health, attributing the rise in addiction among the younger generation to misinformation and strategic efforts by tobacco companies to establish an e-cigarette market in Bangladesh.

 

Spokesperson warns that e-cigarettes pose a significant threat to public health in Bangladesh.

 

They pointed out that the use of e-cigarettes leads to a significant increase in the risk of various diseases, including cancer, heart disease, high blood pressure, and stroke.

 

Former officials are expressing concerns that a lack of proper legislation could exacerbate the popularity of e-cigarettes in the country. As a result, they are emphasizing the need to take necessary measures through legislative action to prevent the importation, marketing, and usage of e-cigarettes.
