Brazilian Joint Police Crackdown on Paraguayan E-cigarette Smuggling
Brazilian traffic police, in collaboration with military police, crackdown on a smuggling case involving 965 e-cigarettes from Paraguay.

Brazilian traffic police, in collaboration with military police, cracked down on a smuggling case involving e-cigarettes from Paraguay, resulting in the seizure of a total of 965 smuggled e-cigarettes.

 

The smuggled goods were found in a vehicle, and the 42-year-old driver claimed that he was only hired to transport this batch of e-cigarettes from Marshall Candi Dragon Bell to the Dutorpedrinio area of Itatia Valley.

 

The driver and the smuggled goods have been taken to the Royal Federation Police Bureau in order to undergo further investigation.

Malaysia Withdraws Appeal Against Liquid Nicotine Ruling as Vape Regulation Framework Enters New Phase
Malaysia’s government has withdrawn its appeal against a High Court ruling concerning the regulatory status of liquid nicotine used in vape and e-cigarette products, according to reports by New Straits Times, Free Malaysia Today and CodeBlue on August 18, 2026. The Kuala Lumpur High Court ruled on May 15 that the government’s decision to remove liquid nicotine from the scheduled poisons list under the Poisons Act 1952 was irrational and made without proper consultation with the Poisons Board. The withdrawal ends the government’s appeal process, while the future regulatory framework for nicotine vape products remains under discussion.

South Korea Vape Strategies Diverge as BAT Reconsiders Exit and PMI Takes VEEV to About 14,000 Stores
BAT Rothmans says it previously considered exiting South Korea's vaping market because of competitive pressure from unregulated products, but is now reassessing conditions following changes to the country's nicotine regulatory framework. Vuse and other BAT vaping products remain available through existing distribution channels. The statement followed a South Korean media report that interpreted BAT's broader withdrawal from selected Vapour markets as a full exit from South Korea. The UK High Court has ordered Chinese vape manufacturer Shenzhen SKE Technology to provide £569,039 ($776,000) in security for costs in its design infringement proceedings against Vapepen London and other defendants over its Crystal Bar vape product.
