Bulgarian parliament passes law prohibiting e-cigarette use and sales for minors, alongside ban on related advertising on TV and radio.

According to a report by TASS on September 5th, the Bulgarian parliament passed a draft law in its second and final readings, prohibiting children under the age of 18 from using and purchasing e-cigarettes. The draft law also supports a ban on e-cigarette advertisements on broadcast and television.

The bill not only prohibits the sale of e-cigarettes, but also includes a ban on advertising for smokeless tobacco products, heated tobacco products, tobacco heating systems, e-cigarette consumption systems, as well as their flavors and e-liquids. Furthermore, the bill prohibits the use of e-cigarette-related trademarks and names in advertising on radio and television.

This legislation aims to protect the health of children under 18 by restricting the use, sale, and advertising of e-cigarettes and other non-tobacco products. Many of these products come from unknown sources, and failing to regulate their use could lead to the emergence of more obscure products. In most cases, using these products can result in various illnesses and increase interest in smoking, leading to a range of consequences.
