Crackdown on Illegal Sale of Fake e-cigarettes in Jingtai
Gansu police crack down on illegal sale of counterfeit e-cigarettes, arresting four suspects and seizing over ¥5 million worth of products.

According to a news report on August 28th from Lanzhou News Network, on August 26th, the Jingtai County Public Security Bureau in Baiyin City, Gansu Province announced that the bureau's Economic Investigation and Forest Brigade, in collaboration with the Jingtai County Tobacco Bureau, recently conducted a concentrated operation to crack down on the illegal sale of tobacco products under the case titled "7.07." The operation took place in Jiangsu, Guangdong, Zhejiang, Hunan and other places, resulting in the successful arrest of four suspects and the dismantling of five locations that stored, mailed, sold, and acted as agents for e-cigarettes. The authorities seized a total of 4,746 disposable e-cigarettes in fruit flavors, 15,260 e-cigarette pods, 500 cigarette tubes, 1 barcode scanner, 4 label printers, over 1,000 packaging bags, and a cash amount of 121,500 yuan. They also confiscated one computer used in the crimes, seven mobile phones, and confiscated goods with a value of 1,845,400 yuan. The total amount involved in the case was over 5 million yuan.

On July 6th, Jingtai County Public Security Bureau received a report from the Jingtai County Tobacco Bureau regarding the transfer of clues suggesting that someone was using logistics to send a large number of illegal e-cigarette packages, suspected to be fake and inferior products. Immediately, the Jingtai County Public Security Bureau established a "7.07" special task force to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the case. It was discovered that these counterfeit e-cigarettes lacked information such as the name and address of the manufacturer, production hygiene license code, and even the ingredients were not specified. In just one month, the transaction volume reached over 100,000 yuan, posing a serious threat to the health of young people.

With strong support from the cyber security department, the task force has obtained a comprehensive understanding of the criminal gang's activities. Recently, the team divided into four groups and conducted arrests in Jiangsu, Guangdong, Zhejiang, and Hunan. Following interrogation, all four suspects have admitted to their involvement in illegal activities without hesitation.
