Dominican Authorities Seize Over 4,000 Suspected Marijuana E-Cigarettes in Airport Inspection
Authorities in the Dominican Republic have seized over 4,000 e-cigarettes suspected to contain cannabis oil during an airport inspection. The products, which originated from the United States, are currently under investigation.

On November 30th, the National Drug Control Agency of the Dominican Republic (DNCD) announced that it had conducted an airport inspection operation with the Special Airport Security Corps (CESAC) at the Americas International Airport (JFPG) this week. During the operation, over 4000 e-cigarettes suspected to contain cannabis oil were seized.


The agency intercepted several packages from the United States, and sniffer dogs alerted to the presence of suspected controlled substances inside. Upon opening and inspecting the boxes, officials found 4,086 e-cigarettes containing suspected cannabis oil and other items.


The prosecution authorities and DNCD have initiated an investigation into these e-cigarettes and other products. These packages are said to have been sent in the name of a company located in Miami, USA, while the recipient, according to the shipping label, is a woman in Santo Domingo.
