Brian King, Director of the FDA's Center for Tobacco Products, is set to participate in a public dialogue next month regarding e-cigarettes and harm reduction. King took on the role of Director in July 2022 and began implementing strong regulations on e-cigarettes, including strengthening the review process for PMTA, and issuing warning letters to non-compliant companies. Prior to this dialogue, King only made an appearance and delivered a speech at the Global Tobacco and Nicotine Forum in September of last year and has not interacted with the public since. This dialogue will be his first public interaction with industry professionals since taking on the role.

The upcoming online event will be hosted by Gregory Conley, the Director of Legislation for the American Vaping Association (AVM), and newly appointed Vice President of AVM, Allison Boughner. The conference, titled "The Future of American Vaping: A Conversation with Dr. Brian King, Director of the FDA Center for Tobacco Products," will take place on February 24th at 1:00 pm EST and is open to the public, with registration available through this link.
According to 2FIRSTS, it is understood that the director King's speech at this conference may reveal the future direction of electronic cigarette regulation by the United States federal government.
The Washington News Center editor will provide extensive coverage of the event and bring updates as they become available. Stay tuned for more information.
