FDA Updates Import Alert List for Tobacco Products, BAT Velo Included

The FDA updates its "98-06 Import Alert" list with tobacco products from VELO and Lyft Cool Air.

Recently, the US FDA (Food and Drug Administration) updated its "98-06 Import Alert" list, commonly known as the "Red List." The updated guidance from the FDA states that departments may detain tobacco products listed on this red list of import alerts without the need for physical inspection.

The recently added products mainly include the nicotine pouch brand VELO under British American Tobacco. Previously, the "Lyft Cool Air" nicotine pouch under British American Tobacco was also included in the list.
