Italian Police Seize Illegal E-Cigarettes at Vaping Expo
Italian police have seized over 800 illegal disposable e-cigarettes and e-liquids at the "Vaping Expo" held in Padova.

According to a report by Italian media outlet Padovaoggi, the Italian police conducted an inspection of the e-cigarette exhibition, known as "Vaping Expo," held at the Padova Exhibition Center in Italy from November 25th to November 26th.

 

During the inspection, the Italian police seized over 800 illegally imported disposable e-cigarettes and related e-liquids. The case involves four e-cigarette industry professionals, including three Chinese nationals and one British citizen.

 

Reportedly, these businessmen were showcasing disposable e-cigarettes at their booths without the corresponding compliance markings, and as a result, they will face administrative penalties.

Lawmakers from Romania’s USR, PSD and PNL have submitted a bill that would ban e-cigarettes, vapes and heated tobacco devices in all enclosed public spaces. The proposal would redefine “smoking” so that inhaling aerosols produced by heating or vaporizing products containing tobacco, nicotine or other substances intended for inhalation would also be considered smoking, except for medical-use products.

Philip Morris Korea said on March 31 that it will begin selling the new “Electric Purple” color for the heated tobacco device IQOS Iluma i One at major convenience stores nationwide in South Korea starting May 2. KT&G said on April 15 that it will launch “Miix Cigar Collection,” a dedicated stick for its lil Hybrid heated tobacco product, at convenience stores nationwide in South Korea. According to the latest country-level data released by China’s General Administration of Customs, China’s e-cigarette-related exports totaled about USD 903 million in March 2026, up about 4.4% from roughly USD 865 million a year earlier. Canada’s federal health minister, Majorie Michel, said she is looking into legislation that would permanently ban the sale of tobacco products to anyone born after 2008.
