Italian Police Seize Illegal E-Cigarettes at Vaping Expo
Italian police have seized over 800 illegal disposable e-cigarettes and e-liquids at the "Vaping Expo" held in Padova.

According to a report by Italian media outlet Padovaoggi, the Italian police conducted an inspection of the e-cigarette exhibition, known as "Vaping Expo," held at the Padova Exhibition Center in Italy from November 25th to November 26th.

 

During the inspection, the Italian police seized over 800 illegally imported disposable e-cigarettes and related e-liquids. The case involves four e-cigarette industry professionals, including three Chinese nationals and one British citizen.

 

Reportedly, these businessmen were showcasing disposable e-cigarettes at their booths without the corresponding compliance markings, and as a result, they will face administrative penalties.

Wigan Council said its Trading Standards team, working with Greater Manchester Police, has seized large quantities of illegal cigarettes and vaping products across the borough in 2025. The confiscated goods, valued at around £145,000, were linked to multiple enforcement actions, including the temporary closure of retail premises and criminal prosecutions. The council said the measures aim to reduce risks posed by illicit tobacco and vape products, particularly to children.

Croatian government decree provides that higher excise duties on tobacco manufactures and tobacco products take effect from January 1, 2026. Excise on e-liquid is set at €0.25 per millilitre, on heated tobacco products at €211.30 per kilogram, and on a new tobacco product at €126.90 per kilogram. The decree’s explanation says 2026 budget revenue from these excises is expected to increase by €129.1 million.
