New Flavors and Limited Edition Release by glo™ Japan Co.
British American Tobacco Japan Co. launched two new flavors for the "Lucky Strike" pod brand on Feb. 10.

According to PR Times on February 10th, British American Tobacco Japan is planning to launch two new flavors of "Lucky Strike" exclusive pods for their heated tobacco device, glo™, on the same day. The glo™ HYPER device will also be released in a limited edition color of "emerald green" and a promotional discount event will be held starting from February 17th.

The newly released limited edition color "Emerald Green" of "glo™ HYPER" will be available for purchase starting on February 17th at major convenience stores nationwide, as well as on the official online stores of glo™ & VELO, Amazon, glo™ Yahoo! Official Store, and glo™ Rakuten Ichiba Official Store. With the introduction of this limited edition color, "glo™ HYPER" now has a total of four colors to choose from: Graphite Black, Peacock Blue, Rose Gold, and Emerald Green.


In addition, the Lucky Strike series flavors "Lucky Strike Berry Switch for hyper" and "Lucky Strike Tropical Switch for hyper" will be available for purchase starting February 10th at major convenience stores, supermarkets, tobacco shops, and the official online stores of glo™ and VELO nationwide.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recently authorized two fruit-flavored vaping products from Glas, but a newly released agency memo shows the products did not demonstrate greater smoking-cessation benefits than tobacco-flavored e-cigarettes. Philip Morris Japan announced on April 23 at a product briefing that ZYN by IQOS, an oral tobacco pouch previously launched in selected areas, will expand sales in Tokyo. The company said the product will be released progressively from May 11 through IQOS shops, Lawson and other outlets in the city. U.S. Senator Dick Durbin on May 13 criticized the Trump Administration’s Food and Drug Administration for approving the sale and marketing of fruit-flavored e-cigarettes for the first time, while also allowing some illegal vaping products to remain on the market. He also linked the regulatory shift to the departure of FDA Commissioner Marty Makary, saying White House pressure on regulators to approve tobacco product applications could create serious public-health consequences.

CBP and FDA Seize 18 Million Illegal Vapes Worth $175 Million in Maritime Cargo Operation
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced that more than 18 million illegal e-cigarettes valued at over $175 million were seized during “Operation Red Mist,” a joint enforcement initiative involving the U.S. Coast Guard and the FDA. The operation primarily targeted maritime vape shipments originating from China and focused on combating illicit importation, transportation, and distribution activities.
