Shanghai Peixin Electronics Punished for Selling Illegal RELX Pods
Shanghai Pexin Electronic Technology Ltd. Punished for selling counterfeit and smuggled e-cigarette products, violating tobacco laws.

According to a report released by the financial industry on July 30th, the Pudong branch of Shanghai Peixin Electronic Technology Co., Ltd. was fined by the tobacco monopoly bureau for selling illegal e-cigarette products, aerosols, and nicotine for e-cigarettes. They were caught with 90 counterfeit, smuggled e-cigarette pods.

According to the media, on May 4, 2024 at 11:20 AM, law enforcement officers from the Tobacco Monopoly Bureau conducted an inspection at the Shanghai Peixin Electronic Technology Co., Ltd. Pudong Branch located at Room 06-79, B1, No. 7, Lane 1239, Zhuchongzhi Road, China (Shanghai) Free Trade Zone. After presenting their enforcement credentials, identifying themselves, and stating their purpose, they found suspected illegal tobacco monopoly products on the premises, including the e-cigarette brand RELX. A total of 33 varieties of items were involved in the case, with 215 items intended for sale to the public. These e-cigarette products were suspected of being illegally manufactured. The party involved held a tobacco monopoly retail license (License number: 310115216691).

Shanghai Peixin Electronics Technology Co., Ltd. Pudong Branch has violated Article 25 of the Implementing Regulations of the Tobacco Monopoly Law of the People's Republic of China and Article 14, paragraph (1) of the Implementing Regulations of the Tobacco Monopoly Law of the People's Republic of China, constituting a violation.


The penalties for the parties involved are as follows: 1. Publicly destroy 215 counterfeit e-cigarettes, including 33 counterfeit registered trademarks of RELXPodPro2 (boxed pod cola) and RELXPodPro2 (boxed pod jasmine); 2. Order to suspend tobacco retail business and undergo a 60-day rectification period.


According to Tianyancha, Shanghai Peixin Electronic Technology Co., Ltd. Pudong Branch was established in 2023. The company primarily engages in software development, maintenance and sales of computers and office equipment, sales of daily necessities, as well as retail of electronic products and office equipment. In addition, they also hold a license for e-cigarette retail, allowing them to legally operate e-cigarette products.
