According to a report by Lianhe Zaobao on May 8th, law enforcement officers at the Woodlands Checkpoint in Singapore seized 3600 e-cigarette products. Criminals attempted to disguise the e-cigarette products by hiding them in black cling film, mixed in with declared goods in an attempt to evade detection.

On May 5, Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) officers stationed at the Woodlands Checkpoint conducted a routine inspection on a Malaysian-registered vehicle entering Singapore. During the inspection, officers discovered suspicious black cling film among the declared items.

After further investigation, law enforcement officers discovered that there were as many as 3900 e-cigarette products hidden within the premises. The immigration bureau emphasized that these products have been confiscated and turned over to the Health Science Bureau for a comprehensive investigation.
