Thai Police Seize Millions Worth of Illegal Vapes and IQOS Pods in Raid
Thai police raided a Bangkok apartment, seizing over 25,000 e-cigarettes worth $6,000 and arresting a 30-year-old female suspect.

According to a report by Khaosod on September 11th, Deputy Chief of the Royal Thai Police Bureau, Wittaya Sriprasert, led a raid on an apartment in central Bangkok, seizing a large quantity of e-cigarettes with an estimated value exceeding 2 million Thai baht (approximately $60,000).

During this operation, police arrested a 30-year-old female suspect and found a total of 25,352 e-cigarette products in her apartment, worth over 2 million Thai baht (approximately 60,000 USD).

It is understood that based on previous reports received, the police suspected that the apartment was storing illegally imported e-cigarettes and IQOS devices, with intentions to sell them online. After a two-month investigation process, the police confirmed the report to be true and conducted a raid with the permission of the court.

According to the police, the suspect was found with a large quantity of various models of e-cigarettes and the police have seized these e-cigarette products as evidence.


During questioning, the suspect admitted that she was only responsible for packaging and shipping goods to customers through a private shipping company. It is reported that most of her clients reside within the Bangkok area.


The police have now charged her with offenses including assisting in hiding and selling smuggled goods entering the country without customs procedures. The case has been transferred to the third police district headquarters in Bangkok for further investigation and processing.
