Truth Behind UK's E-cigarette Craze: What's in Them?
BBC to release documentary "What's Inside e-cigarettes?" in 2024, investigating the truth behind the UK e-cigarette trend.

According to a report by The Lancashire Telegraph on December 8th, the BBC is set to launch a documentary titled "What's in an e-cigarette?" in 2024. The documentary aims to delve into the truth behind the e-cigarette craze in the United Kingdom.

In recent years, there has been a tremendous surge in the number of young people using e-cigarettes in the United Kingdom. Recent data reveals that the annual sales revenue in the country has surpassed a staggering £1.3 billion.

Do the public truly know what is inside these e-cigarettes? What are they made of, how are they made, and where are they made? What chemicals are present in the liquid? How much nicotine do they actually contain? Which ones are legally sold, and which ones are not?

BBC presenter and avid e-cigarette user, Jordan North, will meet with scientists conducting tests on the latest e-cigarettes and researchers exploring their potential long-term effects in response to the aforementioned concerns and more. Additionally, he will investigate the issue of illegal e-cigarettes in the United Kingdom.

Jordan expressed, "I have always wanted to create a documentary on a subject that I am extremely interested in. As an enthusiast of e-cigarettes, I am very curious to explore what goes inside my e-cigarette!

Executive producer Andrew Eastel stated:

Therefore, it is now more important than ever for us to better understand the actual components within e-cigarettes, their manufacturing processes and origins, the types or brands of e-cigarettes that may pose risks, and the potential long-term effects on the health of e-cigarette users.

The documentary "What's Inside E-cigarettes?" is set to premiere on BBC 3 channel and BBC iPlayer in early 2024.
