Ukraine Uncovers Smuggling of $220,000 Worth of Multibrand E-Cigarettes from EU
Ukraine's BEB uncovers EU e-cigarette smuggling channel, seizes $220,000 worth of products. Pre-trial investigation ongoing.

According to UNN on July 5th, the Security Service of Ukraine (BEB) has uncovered a channel for smuggling e-cigarettes from EU countries and seized a multi-brand e-cigarette products worth over 9 million hryvnia (approximately $220,000).

According to a report by BEB, this smuggling operation was organized at transit points in Lviv and Volyn Oblast, with the goods being secretly transported to Ukraine to evade customs inspections.

According to law enforcement officials, these disposable e-cigarettes and e-cigarette liquids entered Ukraine through an EU citizen and were then sold on Telegram.

BEB stated that,

 

Investigators searched the residences, warehouses, and transportation vehicles of the suspects and discovered over 19,000 e-cigarettes, e-cigarette liquids, and related devices. The estimated total value of the seized items exceeds 9 million grivnas.

 

The preliminary investigation into the case is still ongoing.
