Vabeen Vapes Recalled in Bulgaria Over Safety Concerns
The Bulgarian Consumer Commission has issued an urgent recall of "Vabeen" vapes due to excessive nicotine levels and packaging that could mislead children. The EU Safety Gate/RAPEX system has been notified to prevent distribution of the product in other countries.

On November 23, the Bulgarian Consumer Protection Commission announced that they would be recalling e-cigarettes from the "Vabeen" brand due to laboratory analysis findings that revealed discrepancies with regulatory requirements.

According to the commission, these products, sold through online stores, had nicotine levels and e-liquid content far exceeding the permitted limits.

The committee's experts found that the product contains a nicotine concentration of up to 42.7 mg/ml and an e-liquid content of 20 ml, both of which do not meet standard requirements. The packaging also lacks necessary safety warnings and instructions for use.

In addition, the packaging features food designs such as strawberries and ice cream, which may attract children and inadvertently lead to accidental ingestion of high doses of nicotine.

Aside from issuing a recall of the product from the market, Consumer Protection Committee Chair Maria Filipova has initiated a process to notify the European safety gateway/rapid alert system (SAFETY GATE/RAPEX) to prevent distribution of these products in other EU countries.
