Chilean authorities seize over 4,500 cannabis plants as part of the "2023-2024 Marijuana Action Plan" in O'Higgins.

According to a report by the local Chilean media outlet Adnradio, as part of the "2023-2024 Cannabis Action Plan," over four thousand five hundred cannabis plants were seized in the coastal region of O'Higgins in Chile.

The first operation took place in a location known as "Loma de Los Muertos," where 2,143 cannabis plants in various stages of growth were seized. Subsequently, during the second operation carried out in "Quebrada la Alfalfa," a total of 2,347 cannabis plants were successfully confiscated.

In response, Deputy Chief of Police Jorge Burgos from the Third Police Station in Pichilemu provided a detailed explanation, stating, "This specialized unit entered the Alfalfa Valley, where they discovered four marijuana plantations and successfully seized them.

In addition to seizing cannabis plants, authorities also discovered other items at the scene, including a 9mm caliber empty shell handgun and seven bullets. China-based Shenzhen Huabao Collaborative Innovation Technology Research Institute Co., Ltd. has filed a patent application for a nicotine-ascorbic acid cocrystal, exploring a new solid-state form of nicotine. The patent proposes applications across e-liquids, heated tobacco sticks, oral tobacco, chewing tobacco and snuff. In nicotine pouch tests disclosed in the filing, cocrystal formulations showed less than a 6% decline in nicotine content after three months of accelerated storage and a release profile combining early-stage release with sustained delivery over 60 minutes.
