E-cigarette Usage Leads to Hospitalization: Disturbing Youth Trend
A teenager from Bogdanovci, Croatia was hospitalized after using an e-cigarette containing THC and HHC; public concern grows.

According to a report by Croatian media outlet Srednja.hr on January 2nd, a minor from Bogdanovci was hospitalized after using an e-cigarette containing tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and hexahydrocannabinol (HHC).

 

Just ten days prior to this incident, a 15-year-old teenager collapsed in the school restroom after using an e-cigarette. The school janitor discovered the unconscious teenager and promptly alerted the authorities, who responded to the incident after receiving a report from the Woceval Hospital.

 

Currently, both incidents have sparked extreme public interest in the local community, with the police having now released the relevant details pertaining to these cases.

A new study by the Fraunhofer Institute says the rapidly expanding illicit market for disposable e-cigarettes is undermining European regulation, fuelling youth vaping and causing significant tax losses. The study says the illicit market is worth EUR 6.6 billion in 2026 and is projected to rise to EUR 10.8 billion by 2030.
