E-cigarette Usage Leads to Hospitalization: Disturbing Youth Trend
A teenager from Bogdanovci, Croatia was hospitalized after using an e-cigarette containing THC and HHC; public concern grows.

According to a report by Croatian media outlet Srednja.hr on January 2nd, a minor from Bogdanovci was hospitalized after using an e-cigarette containing tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and hexahydrocannabinol (HHC).

 

Just ten days prior to this incident, a 15-year-old teenager collapsed in the school restroom after using an e-cigarette. The school janitor discovered the unconscious teenager and promptly alerted the authorities, who responded to the incident after receiving a report from the Woceval Hospital.

 

Currently, both incidents have sparked extreme public interest in the local community, with the police having now released the relevant details pertaining to these cases.

HM Revenue and Customs announced that from April 1, 2026, UK vaping product manufacturers, importers and warehousekeepers can apply for approval under Vaping Products Duty (VPD) and the Vaping Duty Stamps Scheme (VDS). A study of nearly 2,500 university students in Hanoi, Da Nang, Hue, and Ho Chi Minh City found that the average age of first use of e-cigarettes and heated tobacco products was 16.90. Study Says Europe’s Illicit Disposable Vape Market to Reach EUR 6.6 Billion in 2026
A new study by the Fraunhofer Institute says the rapidly expanding illicit market for disposable e-cigarettes is undermining European regulation, fuelling youth vaping and causing significant tax losses. The study says the illicit market is worth EUR 6.6 billion in 2026 and is projected to rise to EUR 10.8 billion by 2030. It adds that a significant share of the disposable vape market now operates outside the regulatory framework established by the EU Tobacco Products Directive.
