According to a report by Tengrinews on August 27th, Kazakhstan police discovered the largest underground e-cigarette production workshop in the capital city of Astana. The police seized over 5000 e-cigarettes, 235 liters of chemicals, and related production equipment from the workshop.
According to reports, this workshop mainly produces, stores, and sells e-cigarettes and their e-liquids, with a monthly production capacity of 7,000 to 10,000 e-cigarette devices. All handcrafted products are distributed to e-cigarette stores nationwide.
The court has ruled the defendant guilty and ordered the destruction of all e-cigarette products and manufacturing equipment.
According to reports, since the amendment to the law banning the sale, import, and production of e-cigarettes in Kazakhstan took effect on June 20, 2024, regulatory authorities have prevented 25 cases of illegal trafficking of e-cigarettes, flavorings, and e-liquids. Approximately 400,000 e-cigarettes have been destroyed as a result.
