This restriction will also apply to tobacco substitutes, herbal smoking products, electronic smoking devices, and refill containers. The ban is set to be implemented starting from January 1, 2025.
Currently, Latvia permits the sale of tobacco products to individuals aged 18 and above.
The proposed amendment to the law also prohibits the sale of flavored e-cigarettes and tobacco alternatives, except for tobacco flavor. These restrictions will also come into effect on January 1, 2025.
