Limited Edition "IQOS ILUMA i Mineral Model" Available in Japan
PMI launches limited edition "IQOS ILUMA i Mineral Model" heated tobacco product in Japan.

According to Sanspo on March 26th, PMI has announced the launch of a limited edition "IQOS ILUMA i Mineral Model" series of its heated tobacco product in Japan. The product comes in three styles and will be released in batches starting on the 26th at four IQOS physical stores and the official online store nationwide. It will also be available for sale at tobacco shops and convenience stores nationwide starting on April 15th.

 

The slogan for the "IQOS ILUMA i Mineral Model" is "Hold the silent brilliance in your hand". The prices of the new products are the same as existing models. The price of "ILUMA i" is 6,980 yen (46 USD), "PRIME" is 9,980 yen (66 USD), and "ONE" is 3,980 yen (27 USD), all prices including tax.

How Large Is France’s Off-Channel Tobacco Market? Logista Says It Has Become Structural, While the Official Estimate Is 17.7% and Some Industry Studies Put It Above 50%
Logista France says tobacco consumption outside France’s official tobacconist network has become a large and structural market phenomenon, but official and industry estimates differ sharply. France’s TAFE study estimates that 17.7% of tobacco consumption escaped domestic taxation in 2023, with most of that volume attributed to cross-border purchasing rather than street sales. Some industry studies use broader off-channel definitions and put the figure above 50%. Meanwhile, French Customs seized 547.94 tonnes of tobacco in 2025, up 12%, showing continued pressure from illicit trade.

The UK Insolvency Service said YSK Enterprises imported large quantities of vapes from China in 2023, with a shipment addressed to the company declared as medical nebulizers before Border Force found 352,688 vaping products. HMRC calculated nearly £15 million ($20.3 million) in unpaid VAT and customs duty, alongside about £437,000 in corporation tax. Two directors were disqualified for nine years. The case predates the UK's Vaping Products Duty, which will introduce vape-specific excise and duty-stamp requirements from October 2026.
