According to ANTARA's report on August 13, the chairman of the Indonesian Retail Association, Budiharjo Iduansjah, is scheduled to meet with Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin to provide recommendations in the trade sector.
Budi Hartono stated on Tuesday (13th) in Jakarta,
We have been informed that we will be meeting with the Minister of Health this week.
The chairman stated that the meeting discussed not only the implementation regulations in the Government Regulation No. 28 of 2024 (PP) related to the 17th Health Law of 2023, particularly concerning the sale of tobacco products, but also will address the sales of drug products with the green circle logo, which are medicines that can be sold without a prescription.
Previously, the association had requested the government to reexamine government regulation number 28, especially the parts related to the sale of tobacco products. Budiharjo stated that they consistently support the government's decisions, but the clause in this regulation prohibiting the sale of cigarettes within 200 meters of educational centers and children's play areas needs to be discussed.
During a press conference in Jakarta regarding Government Regulation No. 28 of 2024, Budiharjo mentioned, "There are children's playgrounds in shopping centers, and retailers and some restaurants often sell cigarettes.
