According to Better Retailing on September 23rd, Philip Morris International (PMI) UK subsidiary (PML) has launched a new product called "Terea Pearls" to expand the flavor range of its heated tobacco device IQOS.
According to the introduction, the capsule technology of "Terea Pearls" allows users to easily switch from traditional tobacco flavor to unique flavors with just one click.
The four new flavors of "Terea Pearls" are:
Abora Pearl: Tobacco blended with strawberry and basil flavor; Amelia Pearl: Tobacco blended with watermelon and mint flavor; Starling Pearl: Tobacco blended with green apple and mint flavor; Twilight Pearl: Tobacco blended with blueberry and mint flavor.
The company's Commercial Director John Rennie stated:
The responsible use of flavors is an important factor in helping adult smokers transition to better alternatives. With menthol cigarettes no longer being sold in the UK, capsule heat-not-burn tobacco products provide retailers with a unique solution, allowing legal age nicotine users to seamlessly switch to unique flavor blends.
The company has also launched an open platform called "Heatwave" to help stores drive sales of IQOS devices.
