Proposal to Ban Street Vendors Selling E-Cigarettes in UK
Buckinghamshire council proposes banning street vendors from selling e-cigarettes and other items in public areas without approval.

According to a report from BBC on April 10th, Buckinghamshire County Council has proposed new regulations that would ban street vendors from selling e-cigarettes. The draft proposal suggests that all street vendors in the county would need approval from the local government to operate in public spaces.

 

Other potentially banned items include disposable plastic products, sky lanterns, and items that are offensive or have sexual implications.

 

The council stated that citizens can submit their comments on the proposal before April 28th.

UK, Jersey and Guernsey to Ban Disposable Vapes From Jan. 31 as Island Sell-Through Window Closes
Jersey and Guernsey will enforce a full ban on disposable vapes from Saturday, 31 January 2026, making it illegal for shops to sell them after close of business. Online purchases shipped into the islands will also be targeted, with Guernsey’s Director of Public Health Dr Nicola Brink saying Customs will conduct checks and can seize imported disposables. Refillable vapes are not covered by the ban.

The Unified Patent Court’s Court of Appeal declined on Dec. 29 to revive a European patent held by VMR Products LLC, upholding a finding that the patent is not inventive over earlier devices. The Ministry of Health of the Province of Buenos Aires issued a health alert to the public and health teams over increased circulation, promotion and consumption of nicotine pouches.
