According to reports, the Health Science Bureau conducted a raid on December 12th, following the news of e-cigarette sales activities in Block 7, Cai Cuogang. The authorities searched the home of the individuals involved and seized a total of over 1,000 e-cigarettes and related accessories. The estimated market value of these items is believed to exceed SGD 17,000.
The Singapore government has shown a firm stance in the strict supervision and control of illegal activities involving the sale of e-cigarettes and other related products. Individuals who violate tobacco regulations will face severe penalties. According to the law, importing, distributing, or selling e-cigarettes and their accessories is considered illegal. First-time offenders may be fined up to $10,000 SGD, imprisoned for a maximum of six months, or both. Repeat offenders may face a fine of up to $20,000 SGD, imprisonment for up to 12 months, or both.
Individuals who possess, use, or purchase e-cigarettes may also face legal penalties and potential fines of up to 2000 Singapore dollars.
