Strict Crackdown on E-Cigarette Use in British Schools
UK schools clamp down on e-cigarette use, with Ysgol y Strade in Carmarthenshire expelling students caught vaping on campus.

Schools in the UK are cracking down on the use of e-cigarettes, particularly in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. The proportion of children using e-cigarettes has seen an increase, prompting Ysgol y Strade School in Carmarthenshire to adopt a zero-tolerance approach towards students caught using them on campus. Offenders will be immediately expelled and repeat offenders will face even stricter punishments.

South Korea will implement amendments to its Tobacco Business Act on April 24, 2026, officially classifying synthetic nicotine liquid e-cigarettes as tobacco. This marks the first revision of the legal definition of tobacco since 1988. Police in Russia’s Volgograd region say they seized nicotine products lacking mandatory markings valued at more than RUB 3.3 million (about US$42,900+, using RUB 1 = US$0.013). A 43-year-old suspect allegedly stored and sold the products through two retail outlets in Volgograd’s Central and Dzerzhinsky districts. A criminal case has been opened under Article 171.1(6) of the Russian Criminal Code.
