Interception of Illegal Cigarettes Smuggled from Singapore
Indonesian marine patrol successfully seizes 62.5 million illegal cigarettes smuggled from Singapore to the Riau Islands.

According to Batampos, the Indonesian Marine Patrol Team of the Sorat Detachment has successfully intercepted a shipment of illegal cigarettes smuggled from Singapore. These cigarettes were intended to be smuggled to the Liao-ne Islands. According to Ardhan, the Public Relations Officer of the Kanwil DJBC, on Tuesday (November 28th), these illegal cigarettes varied in quantity and brand, totaling 625 boxes or approximately 62.5 million illegal cigarettes.

Israel’s Finance Ministry is advancing a new bill to tax e-cigarettes, tobacco pouches and nicotine pouches. According to the report, once approved by the Knesset Finance Committee, the initiative would only require the signature of Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich to take effect. Russia is preparing changes to its e-cigarette state standard GOST R 58109–2018. Under a draft order submitted to Rosstandart, the shelf life of vape devices and liquids would be limited to no more than two years, and capacity would be strictly capped at 2 mL for replaceable capsules, 10 mL for disposable systems and 30 mL for refill containers.

A study of nearly 2,500 university students in Hanoi, Da Nang, Hue, and Ho Chi Minh City found that the average age of first use of e-cigarettes and heated tobacco products was 16.90. The findings were presented on April 9 in Hanoi. The study also found that 14.00% of students had tried e-cigarettes and 3.00% were current users, while the figures for heated tobacco were 6.00% and 0.80%. % of surveyed retail outlets moving to online sales.

KT&G said on April 20 that it has launched two new “AIIM” sticks for its lil AIBLE heated tobacco device at convenience stores nationwide in South Korea.
