Thai authorities crack down on illegal e-cigarette sales in multiple stores, arresting violators and seizing products worth millions.

According to a report by Khaosod on July 8th, Thanakrit Jit-Arirattrat, Assistant Minister of Public Health of Thailand, led a joint operation with provincial police, Mueang Chanthaburi police, administrative departments, and health officials to raid and arrest 10 shops in Mueang Chanthaburi province selling e-cigarettes, involving multiple e-cigarette brands.

Mahaniyom MP stores are located in various districts of Chantaburi city, including Maharach branch in Chantaburi city, Khlong Khut branch in Tha Mai district, Khlung branch in Khlung district, Krating branch in Khao Khitchakut district, Pak Saeng branch in Chantaburi city, Makham branch in Makham district, Phliu branch in Laem Sing district, Charoensuk market branch in Chantaburi city, and Ramphai branch in Tha Chang district. Additionally, Mr. Makuea Po's home in Silapornville village is located in Koh Khwang district of Chantaburi city.

During the operation, the police arrested several offenders and seized illegal e-cigarettes worth around 3 million Thai baht ($82,000).

According to a survey, e-cigarette sales in the region reach nearly 20 million Thai baht (54,000 USD) per month, with the youngest e-cigarette user being only 12 years old.

Furthermore, authorities also discovered that businesses were modifying e-cigarettes to cartoon style to attract young people and avoid parents' attention, selling for approximately 200-300 Thai baht (5.49-8.23 US dollars).
