Thai Police Raid Illegal Vape Factory, Detain Chinese National
Thai police raided a building disguised as a cosmetics factory but used for producing and assembling vape components. A Chinese national and 22 Myanmar workers were arrested, and a significant amount of vape products and equipment was seized.

According to CH HD News on November 18th, the Economic Crime Investigation Bureau of Thailand (บก.ปอศ.) raided a commercial building leased by Chinese capital and discovered that foreign laborers were hired to privately produce and assemble e-cigarette components, while the company was masquerading as a cosmetics manufacturing enterprise on the surface.


On November 15, authorities discovered that this commercial building was suspected of illegally importing e-cigarette devices and conducting assembly operations on the premises. Upon searching, it was found that the facility was disguised as a cosmetics manufacturing company on the outside, but inside foreign workers were assembling e-cigarettes.


The suspect under control is a Chinese national named Ms. Liao, who is responsible for the operation of the premises and 22 Myanmar foreign laborers. The police seized 3,510 e-cigarettes, 63 gallons of e-cigarette e-liquid, 8 e-cigarette production equipment, 33,000 e-cigarette assembly parts, and 9,600 packaging equipment. At the time of arrest, the suspect denied all charges, but the 22 Myanmar laborers admitted to working for the suspect and receiving wages from her.


This case involves multiple charges including smuggling, selling, or receiving imported goods without customs clearance, engaging in unauthorized business activities, etc. 11 suspects from Myanmar are charged with engaging in a profession without permission. Additionally, 11 suspects from Myanmar are charged with illegal entry and engaging in unauthorized professions.
