According to a report by O Presente on August 26, the Brazilian Federal Police, along with the Border Police Battalion (BPFron) and the Special Police Operations Battalion (Bope), seized a large quantity of e-cigarettes and tobacco essence worth millions of dollars.
During a routine inspection at the Sete Cidades International Port, authorities discovered a trailer with Paraguayan license plates. The trailer was found to contain 500 pieces of smuggled goods hidden beneath a load of corn, with the driver nowhere to be found.
The seized goods include over 100,000 e-cigarettes and 100,000 packs of tobacco essence, with an estimated value of around 11 million reais (approximately 2 million US dollars).
At present, all confiscated items have been transferred to the Federal Police Department in Guaíra for further investigation.
