Dr. Moira Gilchrist Promoted as PMI's Chief Communication Officer
PMI announces personnel changes, with Dr. Moira Gilchrist promoted to Chief Communications Officer, effective January 1, 2024.

According to an official statement on the website of Philip Morris International (PMI) on December 19th, PMI has announced a personnel change in its senior leadership. Starting from January 1st, 2024, Dr. Moira Gilchrist will be promoted to the position of Chief Communications Officer and will join PMI's senior management team.

 

Jill Christ is set to report to CEO Jacek Olczak after joining PMI in 2006, previously serving as Vice President of Strategic and Scientific Communications.

 

Marian Salzman, Vice President of Global Communications, will assume the role of Senior Vice President and Chief Corporate Responsibility Officer from January 1, 2024. After laying the groundwork for the Global Communications division for over five years, Salzman will return to the United States to drive PMI's business development in the American market.

 

Olschak praises Gilchrist's abilities, stating:

 

Combined with her excellent communication skills, these qualities will contribute to the company's pursuit of our ambitious goal to become a predominantly smoke-free company by 2030, with over two-thirds of our total net revenue derived from smoke-free products.

Philip Morris Japan (PMJ) announced that it will open “IQOS Flagship Ginza” in Tokyo on September 4, 2026. The location will become the first global flagship space for PMI’s IQOS brand. PMJ said the venue will target adult smokers aged 20 and above and combine product experiences, community engagement and local cultural elements. The design will incorporate Japanese natural aesthetics and traditional craftsmanship.
