According to a report by Xinhua News Agency on April 26th, ELFBAR and LOST MARY have announced the latest progress in their efforts to combat counterfeit and illegal products. Since 2021, they have been supporting China's official crackdown on counterfeit e-cigarettes. As of now, 229 factories, warehouses, traders, and logistics service providers involved in the trade of counterfeit goods have been closed. In 2022 alone, the two brands have initiated 118 criminal lawsuits against manufacturers of counterfeit products, many of whom have now moved to Southeast Asia.
ELFBAR and LOST MARY stated that through their collaboration with the intellectual property protection pioneer FACT, they would provide investigations, intelligence, and digital evidence support; support the activities of the British Convenience Store Industry Association, encourage retailers to report illegal e-cigarettes to the CrimeStoppers hotline or their local trading standards team; in addition, they also advocate for the establishment of a licensing program to ensure the establishment of a verification system for retailers.
ELFBAR and LOST MARY have announced that they are working with intellectual property authorities in the Southeast Asian market to shut down a large number of businesses involved in counterfeit trade. In the United States, they have halted supply to the market in response to the widespread circulation of counterfeit products.
ELFBAR and LOST MARY have announced their collaboration with regulatory authorities in markets such as the UK, the Netherlands, Czech Republic, Slovakia, and the UAE starting from September 2022. Thousands of counterfeit ELFBAR and LOST MARY devices have been seized from 104 retail stores found to be selling illegal products. In Russia, the company has filed a series of trademark infringement cases in Russian courts, resulting in favorable rulings for "ELFBAR" and "LOST MARY" in 1,217 and 29 cases respectively.
