First Prosecution in Singapore Over Social Media Vaping Posts
A 25-year-old man in Singapore has been fined for posting videos and photos of himself holding or using e-vaporisers on social media platforms. The case marks the first prosecution by the Health Sciences Authority for such online content.

2Firsts, December 18 2025 – A 25-year-old man was fined S$12,000 (approximately US$9,300, original currency: Singapore dollar) for posting videos and photos of himself holding or using e-vaporisers on social media, according to Singapore’s Health Sciences Authority (HSA).

 

HSA said this was the first time it has prosecuted an individual for posting images of himself vaping on social media platforms.

 

The man, Krish Khalifa, who uses the account name “Rapperboya,” posted several videos and photos on his YouTube, Instagram and TikTok channels between November 2023 and September 2024. The content showed him holding or using e-vaporisers in public places and at home.

 

Investigations began after authorities received complaints from members of the public alleging that a TikTok video showed someone using an e-vaporiser.

 

Khalifa was also fined an additional S$2,000 (approximately US$1,550, original currency: Singapore dollar) after admitting to possessing three e-vaporisers featured in his social media posts.

 

HSA said that between January 1 and November 30, it identified and fined 38 individuals for posting photographs or videos of vapes on social media.

VAPORESSO introduced the PRIX MTL pod system in August 2026 in two versions, Filter and NFC. The Filter version allows users to switch between a conventional drip tip and a filter tip, while the NFC version links interchangeable panels to matching on-screen animations. PRIX features a 2,600mAh battery, a 5.5ml pod, a 0.87-inch TFT display and a maximum output of 40W, alongside Dual Mesh Impact Pods capable of operating at two resistance and power configurations. European Ombudswoman Teresa Anjinho has opened an inquiry into how the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Trade handles interactions with the tobacco industry. The case follows a complaint from a civil society organisation that alleges regular, unnecessary and non-transparent contacts between DG TRADE and tobacco industry representatives, raising questions over compliance with the EU’s obligations under the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control. GSTHR Estimates 200 Million People Use Non-Combustible Nicotine Products as 28 Countries Show Rising Use Alongside Falling Smoking Rates
The Global State of Tobacco Harm Reduction, a project operated by Knowledge·Action·Change, estimates that about 200 million people worldwide use non-combustible nicotine products including vapes, heated tobacco, nicotine pouches and snus. Its 2026 report says use of these products rose alongside declining smoking rates in 28 countries it analyzed. The data do not establish that all 200 million users have quit smoking, nor do they prove a direct causal relationship. GSTHR also says regulatory restrictions on the products continue to expand in many markets.
