Interdisciplinary Conference on Tobacco Regulation and E-cigarette Control
Brazil to hold its first interdisciplinary conference, the "SBGMD," on November 25 in Guarujá to discuss tobacco regulation and e-cigarette impact.

Brazil will hold its first interdisciplinary conference on November 25th, Saturday, called the "SBGMD". The conference will take place in Guarujá and will address all aspects of tobacco use regulation, including issues concerning the suboptimal health population and smoking cessation efforts.

 

Doctors and scientists will discuss at the conference the impact of e-cigarette use on health and methods of controlling this practice.

KT&G has approved a plan to establish a branch in Guatemala, which will serve as its first local base in Central and South America. The company is currently preparing office space, staffing, and operating systems. KT&G said the branch is intended to secure a regional distribution base and will focus on local channel management and new sales channel expansion. Meanwhile, overseas cigarette revenue in 2025 exceeded the domestic share for the first time.

HM Revenue and Customs announced that from April 1, 2026, UK vaping product manufacturers, importers and warehousekeepers can apply for approval under Vaping Products Duty (VPD) and the Vaping Duty Stamps Scheme (VDS). Under new GOV.UK guidance, Vaping Products Duty will take effect on October 1, 2026 and will apply to all vaping liquids, whether they contain nicotine or not.
