The three-day InterTabac Dortmund International Tobacco Fair has successfully concluded. As the official media partner, the 2Firsts team attended the event and provided full coverage. Preview of the exhibition


In the past three years, 2Firsts has reported on the CEO of Dortmund Tobacco Expo, Mr. Zhao Tong, giving an online speech focusing on harm reduction through new generation products (NGP).


For the third time, 2Firsts, as the official media partner of the Dortmund Tobacco Exhibition, will report on the exhibition in a special feature. At the same time, 2Firsts co-founder and CEO, Tong Zhao, will attend the exhibition forum online and deliver a keynote speech on "The Role and Value of News Media in Harm Reduction in NGP.

The Dortmund Tobacco Expo this year featured 8 exhibition halls, with one hall (Hall 6) showcasing numerous nicotine pouch brands. 2Firsts has compiled a list of the brands featured in this hall.

This exhibition attracted multiple international tobacco companies and well-known brands such as Philip Morris International (PMI), British American Tobacco (BAT), Altria, SMOORE, ELFBAR, LOST MARY, GEEKVAPE, RELX, HQD, OXVA, VOOPOO, VOZOL, IZY, UWELL, TYSON, and more.

Zhao Tong, CEO of 2Firsts, was invited to give a keynote speech at the Dortmund Tobacco Exhibition Forum on the role and value of news media in reducing harm from new tobacco products.


Zhao Tong, co-founder and CEO of Firsts, was invited to attend the Dortmund Tobacco Exhibition online conference. In his speech titled "The Role and Value of News Media in Harm Reduction of New Tobacco Products," he pointed out that the lack of news coverage has hindered the development of harm reduction initiatives for new tobacco products and reduced the effectiveness of government decision-making. He called on all parties to support the media in providing more comprehensive and objective coverage of the industry.


Trade show observation


Exhibition Observation: HQD Uses Exhibition "Advertising Bombardment," Possibly Hides Product Details Due to Advertising Laws.


HQD promoted its e-cigarette products through large-scale advertising at the exhibition, but did not disclose specific details, possibly due to restrictions on e-cigarette advertising laws in Germany. As of 2024, Germany is banning outdoor advertising for e-cigarettes, restricting promotional formats, and requiring advertisements to not deceive consumers or attract minors.


Trade Show Watch: Boxed CBD pouch products appear at the exhibition. Selling at double the price of nicotine pouches, they attract attention.


At this year's Dortmund tobacco exhibition, 2Firsts observed that a manufacturer had showcased a boxed CBD pouch product. However, according to the organizers, the product currently has very low sales in the market and is facing uncertain prospects.


Trade Show Observation: Some brands are promoting "nicotine oral film" to avoid intense competition in the nicotine pouch market.


It has been discovered that some established brand manufacturers have taken advantage of the "Nicotine Pouch" trend at trade shows by introducing similar products called Nicotine Lozenges.


Trade Show Observation: Altria exhibits "zero product," nicotine pouch brand On! in round box packaging.


Altria chose to exhibit at this trade show without any products on display. According to booth staff, this decision was based on the advice of their regulatory department, as exhibiting without products is seen as a safer practice. On! nicotine pouches have adopted a smoother round box design, primarily aimed at the UK and Swedish markets.


Trade Show Observation: China Tobacco Hong Kong, PMI, BAT, Smoore, FirstUnion, and other companies showcase their HNB brands at the exhibition.


During this year's Dortmund tobacco exhibition, many companies including China Tobacco Hong Kong, Philip Morris International (PMI), British American Tobacco (BAT), Smoore, and FirstUnion all showcased their HNB brands.


Trade Show Observations: Many Brands Engage in a "Battle" of Tote Bags, ELFBAR Stands Out with the Most Eye-Catching Quantity.


At the tobacco exhibition in Dortmund, it was discovered that distributing branded tote bags was the main marketing strategy for this event. Tote bags from major brands such as ELFBAR, GEEKBAR, and HAYATI became the "mobile advertisements" for the exhibition. Among them, ELFBAR's tote bags were distributed more widely, and attendees carrying ELFBAR tote bags could be seen everywhere in the exhibition hall.

China Tobacco Hong Kong showcased over a hundred heated cigarette products at the Dortmund Tobacco Exhibition, featuring the debut of their tea-based Zero Nicotine products.


At the Dortmund tobacco exhibition, China Tobacco Hong Kong showcased 25 brands and over 100 varieties of heated tobacco products at the exhibition, including for the first time tea-based nicotine-free pods and natural smoke technology products developed independently by China Tobacco.


Exhibition Observation: The number of exhibitors for nicotine pouches has increased significantly at this exhibition, with various brand posters lining the outside of the venue.


At the Dortmund International Tobacco Exhibition, nicotine pouches, as an emerging tobacco alternative, have garnered significant attention. The event featured numerous nicotine pouch brands and promotional posters were displayed at the entrance of the exhibition hall.


Exhibition Catalog: The 2024 Dortmund Exhibition officially opens, with over 700 exhibitors showcasing their products.


On September 19th at 10 am German time, the 2024 InterTabac tobacco exhibition officially opened in Dortmund. The exhibition gathered more than 700 exhibitors, including many well-known brands and companies such as China Tobacco Hong Kong, Philip Morris International (PMI), British American Tobacco (BAT), Smoore (SMOORE), Geekvape (GEEKBAR), and RELX (RELX).
