Successful Industrial Cannabis Cultivation in Santa Martha Chichihualtepec
According to Mexican media pagina3, Santa Martha Chichihualtepec community successfully conducted its first industrial-scale marijuana cultivation and harvest.

According to a report by Mexican media outlet pagina3 on January 18, the community of Santa Martha Chichihualtepec in the state of Oaxaca has successfully conducted its first experimental cultivation and harvest of marijuana for industrial purposes, marking their first achievement in obtaining a marijuana yield with industrial manufacturing potential.

The state of Santa Marta Chiquihuáltepec in Oaxaca, Mexico has successfully harvested hemp for the first time, which can be used in the production of textiles, thread, ropes, soap, and other industrial products. According to Horacio Sosa, a representative from the Morena party who is involved in the project, Oaxaca is the first state in Mexico to promote such initiatives, focusing on biocultural architecture and sustainable product manufacturing goals.

Sosa Villavicencio emphasized that the project has obtained health permits from the Federal Commission for the Protection against Sanitary Risks (Cofepris). The project was initiated by local farmer families and aims to cater to the emerging needs of the industrial market. He stated that Mexico has enormous potential in developing the cannabis industry, with the key lying in accurately defining medical, recreational, and industrial uses of marijuana within the legal framework.

Sousa also stated that, from the perspective of the legislation body in Osaca state, they will strengthen efforts to promote local producers benefiting directly from this new market opportunity. He emphasized the crucial role of developing regulations to support local farming families, ensuring they can fully exploit this global development opportunity.
