British Police Seize Thousands of Illegal E-Cigarettes in Halifax
Halifax and Todmorden police seize 2,500 illegal e-cigarettes, along with 700 banned cigarettes and 160 illegal ones.

According to a report from the local British media outlet Halifax Courier, the police forces in Halifax and Todmorden, UK, have seized approximately 2500 illegal e-cigarettes.

 

In addition, the Special Police Unit of Halifax, United Kingdom, has collaborated with the Ajaquesi County Trade Standards Committee and Wigton British Company - a team of experts specialized in police dog training and canine investigation. During this joint operation, they have seized 700 packs of banned cigarettes and 160 packs of illegal cigarettes.

 

This is a gift prepared for hungry incinerators well before Christmas," the police department posted on social media.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced that more than 18 million illegal e-cigarettes valued at over $175 million were seized during “Operation Red Mist,” a joint enforcement initiative involving the U.S. Coast Guard and the FDA. Belgium’s federal government on Thursday approved a ban on flavored vapes, allowing only tobacco-flavored and unflavored e-cigarettes on the market from September 2028. Health Minister Frank Vandenbroucke said the measure is aimed at protecting the health of children and young people and preventing a new generation from becoming dependent on tobacco.
