ICA Foils Attempt to Smuggle 37,588 E-Cigarettes into Singapore
ICA officials announced on Facebook that they seized 37,588 e-cigarettes and e-liquids in a smuggling case at Tuas Checkpoint on August 21.

On October 16th, the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) of Singapore announced on their social media platform Facebook that on August 21st, ICA officials at the Tuas checkpoint intercepted a case of an attempted smuggling of a total of 37,588 e-cigarettes and their e-liquids into Singapore.

Authorities discovered irregular images during scanning of trucks registered in Malaysia and instructed further inspection of the vehicles. During the inspection process, hidden e-cigarette products in the cargo were found, with the seized products involving the e-cigarette brand "Vapetape Unplug".


This case has been transferred to the Singapore Ministry of Health for further investigation.

The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA) released its 2025 Community Health Survey results covering more than 230,000 adults. Traditional cigarette smoking dropped to 17.9%, down 1 percentage point from last year, while e-cigarette use increased to 9.3%, up 0.6 points. Overall tobacco product use stood at 22.1%, a slight decline from 2024 but still 0.5 points higher than 2019.
