
According to a report by 8world on September 23, the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) of Singapore successfully uncovered two smuggling cases at the Tuas Checkpoint last month on August 20. A total of 5850 e-cigarettes and 6750 packs of untaxed cigarettes were seized.
According to reports, inspectors discovered 4350 packs of untaxed cigarettes and 5850 e-cigarettes at 2:15 pm that afternoon. This case became the first groundbreaking case of the day. At 7:15 pm that evening, the immigration authorities achieved another important success by seizing 2400 packs of untaxed cigarettes, making it the second smuggling case of the day.
Currently, these cases have been passed on to the Department of Health Sciences and the Customs Bureau for further investigation. The Immigration and Customs Bureau stated that they will continue to increase inspections and crack down on smuggling activities to maintain national border security.
