According to a recent report by Vietnamplus, authorities in Bac Ninh province of Vietnam recently destroyed a batch of illegally imported e-cigarette devices, totaling 34,000 units.
A representative from the Beining Province Market Supervision Bureau revealed that a large number of e-cigarette devices were discovered in an industrial area in Beining Province. Prior to this, the bureau conducted a surprise inspection at a company named H.V.M located in the Guiwu Industrial Zone.
During the inspection, law enforcement officers confiscated 34,000 disposable e-cigarettes, with a total value of approximately 1.827 billion Vietnamese dong (around $7,000). H.V.M failed to provide permits for the products' operation and proof of legal sources.
On September 26th, the city's Industry and Commerce Bureau issued an administrative penalty decision against H.V.M for failing to register as a merchant and selling smuggled goods. The total fine amount was 52.5 million Vietnamese dong (approximately $2100). In addition, all of the illegal e-cigarette devices have been destroyed.
