Brazilian Congressman Antonio Vaz proposes bill to ban e-cigarettes
Brazilian Republican Party congressman Antonio Vaz has proposed a new bill in South Mato Grosso state to ban e-cigarette devices.

According to Diariodigital report on September 10, Brazilian Republican Party congressman Antonio Vaz has proposed a new bill, titled 192/2024, aimed at banning the use, sale, import, and production of e-cigarette devices in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul in Brazil. The bill covers all types and brands of products, such as e-cigarettes, electronic cigars, and electronic hookahs.

Antonio emphasized that the number of people using nicotine-containing devices is increasing. He also mentioned that there is growing evidence suggesting that the use of these devices may lead to serious lung diseases, such as lung injuries associated with the use of vapor products (EVALI). This disease has already resulted in hospitalizations and deaths in multiple countries.
