Brazilian Authorities Crack Down on Illegal e-Cigarette Smuggling Ring
Brazilian authorities launched operation "Relutância" to dismantle illegal e-cigarette distribution ring, seizing $113 million in assets.

According to a report by Circuitomt on September 4th, the Brazilian Federal Police and Federal Revenue Department conducted a joint operation on Wednesday (4th) codenamed "Relutância" aimed at dismantling a criminal organization involved in the illegal importation and distribution of e-cigarettes and their accessories. It is reported that the court has frozen assets worth 6.4 million reals (1.13 million dollars) belonging to the organization.


According to the investigation, this criminal group supplies illegal e-cigarettes to Matogrosso and other cities in the central-western and northern regions. These products are imported from Paraguay and distributed to other states from Londrina.


Members of the group will face multiple charges including smuggling, tax evasion, receiving stolen goods, making false statements, disobedience, and participating in a criminal organization.
